School-based Health Clinics |

School-based health clinics that provide basic health care to students, parents, and other residents of neighborhood areas could be a relatively inexpensive alternative to other health programs because they can be located in existing school buildings.
This approach could produce budget savings by not requiring new
construction or the costly leasing of commercial real estate.
School-based health clinics could take care of public health needs,
basic health care, and emergency care. Other states have used them
widely for purposes other than sex education or sexual transmitted
disease prevention, and they could reduce the burden on emergency rooms
and public health clinics.
