Abusive Parents Financial Responsibility |

Since hard-working teachers and state employees are on the list for 6 percent pay cuts, please add parents, who have had their parental rights terminated for abusing their child, to continue paying child support until the child is adopted to save on Welfare spending.
The Governor is adding to the Welfare budget at the expense of
taxpayers. Stop punishing abused children and their custodial parent.
Oklahoma statute provides that termination of parental rights shall not
terminate the duty to support the minor child until a final decree of
adoption has been entered. “The termination of parental rights
terminates the parent-child relationship, including the parent’s right
to the custody of the child and his right to visit the child, his right
to control the child’s training and education, the necessity for the
parent to consent to the adoption of the child and the parent’s right
to the earnings of the child, and the parent’s right to inherit from or
through the child. Provided, that nothing herein shall in any way
affect the right of the child to inherit from the parent.”
