If we were to have a State Lottery here in Nevada and funnel all of the proceeds into education, state of the art schools, teacher salaries, new facilities, vocational schools that could put people to work right here in Nevada, it will be a win win situation for all.
We could bring Nevada from #40 something up into the top 10 in
education with graduate levels at high schools to record numbers. This
will encourage students to pursue college or vocational training after
high school, put people to work in Nevada, support the President’s view
on establishing a solid educational foundation in our State.
Currently, my lottery dollars go to the State of California, as do many
other Nevadans. Send 95 percent of proceeds to the lottery, 5 percent
to administrative costs and keep everyone else’s hands out of the money
and see what we can do regarding our educational system. Team up with
Mega Millions or Powerball along with our own lotto, Win 3, Win 4 and a
few other creative games and let’s get this job done! Let’s put Nevada
in the top 10 in high school graduates!
