General Budget Comments PDF Print E-mail
In these hard and very egregious times, it would be remiss of the Legislators to continue slashing and cutting the budget for the average citizen, who is either underemployed or unemployed.  Stop year round school for awhile and go to the 9-month school system.  Look out for the average citizen not big industry for a change.

This new increase on electricity is ridiculous; if anything, it should be reduced.  They can wait for increases when the economy picks up.  People should not have to choose between paying their rent, buying food, or going without things they really need, like medication.  I have solar sheers on the windows to save on energy and air conditioning and heating usage.  The heat is a killer in Nevada in the summer as you well know.  To add to the hardships of people already in financial straights is criminal!  This is not a third world country yet, and you should not allow it to get any worse than it already is.  What about the elderly and those on fixed incomes?  People who were working are now homeless and on the streets with their children.  That’s a shame and for the most part these are American citizens.  You should take a hard look at Illegal Immigration again and evaluate what that is costing American citizens opposed to legal Americans and put Americans first.
