We would like to see the Legislature’s proposed budget completed by early and presented to the public for comment. The Governor has presented his, you have said you are not going to pass the Governor’s Budget, so we would like to be able to comment and take appropriate action on your proposed budget before the end of session.
All other bills should be put aside until the budget is done. More
taxes are not the answer. You had plenty of funds when Governor Guinn
gave away the rainy day fund. You had plenty of tax revenue from the
“boom” years of real estate, and you did not spend it wisely. No new
programs and no increase of department budgets. Your petty infighting,
earmarks, and disregard for the public tax burden is shameful. Tighten
your belt; we have to.
